The Compassion Fund

Providing rapid, flexible support for LAUSD families experiencing homelessness, foster care, and family crises

Donate to The Compassion Fund

Every year, tens of thousands of Los Angeles students navigate homelessness, foster care, and family crises that strain our collective hearts and that make student learning so much more challenging. When a student’s basic needs collapse, so does their ability to focus and thrive.

The Compassion Fund is designed for these moments of intense need. The fund provides rapid, flexible support in the form of groceries, transportation, emergency stipends, uniforms, and technology. But even more powerfully, the Compassion Fund pairs these immediate services alongside district and partner supports like trauma-informed counseling, tutoring, and mentoring.

The result is increased stability and deeper connection for our kids who need us the most. Those supports, in turn, increase attendance, engagement, and well-being.
